Status: Working at NatWest Group as a Software Engineer- India and totally having 1.8 years of experience till now
Position: Software Engineer at ServiceNow
Location: Hyderabad
Date: March-April 2021
Got this opportunity via a referral . I have been leetcoding for almost an year..failed amazon twice in this span and also have been failed in many more firms.
No online test. Recruiter called me one day for an initial discusison which involves getting to know about my tech stack, experience, notice period etc.,
Reached out to me again after 2 weeks and set up the interview process.
Totally had 3 rounds as specified below:
1st Round (Behavioural): The interview was scheduled with a person in ServiceNow who is at a director level.
Started with my introdution and later on he moved to my projects in the resume. Asked some questions about my projects at NatWest and the key deliverables .
Later on moved to Javascript, React, Java overview questions (Like how much you rate yourself on javascript? Why React is there? etc...,)
Then finally some behavioural questions like
why ServiceNow?,
what is the most valuable thing you delivered so far?
Overall this round went like a cake walk.
The same director level person sent out an email to me for the next round of technical interview the same day after 1 hour.
Next round was happened the next day.
2nd Round (Technical): The interviewer seems to be proficient with Javascript.
1.)Write a funciton in Javascript to check two variables are equal or not?
the catch here is the variable can be number, string, object, array, or any kind.
- A simple 2 sum problem ..But asked all the approaches & time complexities (I gave 3 approaches)
3.) A database design question for a blog. Just need to write RDBMS schema for a blog application.
Overall it went very well..except the coding part of javascript part..I was facing some issues in the editor and it didn't went well
Next day , the 3rd round happened
3rd Round (Technical): The interviwer asked 2 Algo problems (LC easy & medium)
1.) Write a function to reverse an integer.
2.) Largest substring of a string which has unique characters.
Solved both of them & now the interviewer moved on to deep javascript concepts
Questions related to :
Hoisting of var, let & const.
Functions & its types
Closures
Event loop & call back queues
Set Timeout , eventHandler coding output questions etc.,
I answered almost every thing which he asked..He was very satisfied.
After 6 days, I got a call from HR saying that they were ready to roll out an offer for me
I have seen many failures and became dumb to those. Each time we fail, we will learn something and we are one step closer to our destination.
