I would like to share my Facebook onsite experience with the Leetcode community.
YOE : 3 years

I got a recruiter reached out to me via LinkedIn and had my phone interview scheduled in January.

Phone Screen : 2 Medium level questions

1. Array related (Not on Leetcode)
2. String question

The very next day I heard back that I would be moving to the virtual onsite. I had cleared the phone interview with a great feedback and the recruiter mentioned that I should continue the same way in virtual onsite as well.

Then I took 2 months more to prepare for the virtual onsite.

Round -1 : Coding Round
The interviewer asked me one coding question and he mentioned there would be a few follow-ups (dont worry about solving 2 questions). This was a medium/hard String recursion question, not on leetcode. I was able to tell my thought process and he seems satisfied. A lot of time went into discussion. I had a very less time for writing the complete code as the question was completely new to me. I could not write the perfect code for this one. This round went okay.

Round - 2: Coding Round
The interviewer again told that there would be one coding problem and it was a leetcode hard problem, I wrote the complete code but I was not able to convince the interviewer with my approach. At the end I completed the code and gave him one example of how it will work. Interviewer could not understand my though process I guess.

Round-3: Behavioural Round
This went okay I would not say perfect. There was a coding question after this. It was a leetcode easy question and I was able to finish it quickly.

Round - 4 : Product Design Round
I was able to discuss a few components and the interviewer was more focused on the storage part. This went okay and I could not discuss more about the tradeoffs. This was my first ever design interview.

My preparation

1. I have been leetcoding from an year now. It really helped me build my problem solving skills.
2. I have done around 500 questions.
3. I had read system design from different resources which also helped me build the basic knowledge as I do not have any experience working on the system.

Note : I mostly know that it did not go upto the Fb level but I learnt a lot. I was expecting leetcode questions in my interviews but it did not turn out to be in my favour. I had also prepared for previous FB interview questions. I was preparing for an year and usually Fb asks from leetcode but did not happen in my case, I am a bit disappointed. I am still not giving up and work harder and prepare more.
