Applied to Bloomberg via Careers Page for 2021 Software Engineer position(New Grad). Was asked to schedule a Phone screen with one of the engineers.
Phone Screen:
Started off with basic introductions. Then I was asked to explain one of my proudest projects. Then started the coding questions. First one was a simple fibonacci series question, and the next one was kind of open ended design question.
Got the email the next day to schedule the virtual onsite.
Virtual Onsite:
Round-1: Started off with some questions on some of the projects on my resume for about 15-20 min. Then I was asked one of the Bloomberg tagged questions[LC 79]
Round-2: Started off with a discussion about oops concepts, SQL vs NoSQL etc. For the coding question, again a Bloomberg tagged one.
Was told to wait for the HR interview after this round.
HR-Interview: Questions like Why Bloomberg?, What do you expect from a job? etc
After the interview, the HR told me that they'll be contacting me for one final interview with a senior manager.
Waited for two days for them to contact me, and after that sent a mail to the recruiter regarding the interview. The recruiter scheduled the interview after 3 days.
Senior Manager Interview: Was more like a normal discussion than a typical interview. Discussed about string mutability in C++ vs Java and python, advantages and disadvantages etc. Whole interview lasted for just 30 minutes( a very short one when compared to other iterviews that lasted over an hour).
Was told that they'll be contacting me over the next week about the final decision.
It has been almost 12 days now, and there hasn't been any contact from their side. Mailed the recruiter twice, but no response either(may be the recruiter was busy).
So, think have to let go off this and start applying to other companies. :D
Update: Ended up getting the offer, but they took around 2 weeks from the last interview to convey the decision.
