I had a telephone interview for Senior SDE position L6 at Amazon. The first 30-35 mins were spent on 4-5 leadership principles which i think i did prettly well and explained with real examples from my past projects. Then I had about 25 mins left to do the coding challenge.

I was initially asked to find all valid words in a provided string by using dictionary lookup. When i asked questions to clarify the requirements the interviewer changed the requirement and asked me to generate all permutations of a given string. By that time i had only 20 mins left.

I tried doing it iteratively but got stuck. then tried using backtracking and run out of time. At the end i asked a few questions and 2 days later received rejection email.
