Amazon virtual onsite rejected within < 2 hours

Just wanted to share my unusual experience and see if any others had the same experience.

Recruiter reached out back in February, did my OA in April and passed, finally got around to doing the virtual onsite in September after some complications with the original June timeframe.

Finished my last virtual onsite interview today and was just breathing a sigh of relief after having studied for over half a year. Little did I know less than 2 hours after I finished my interview, I get a rejection email, from a lead recruiter that I've never heard from before during the entire process.

I felt like I did just ok in all my interviews, I don't feel like I impressed the interviewers by any means, but I also don't feel like I bombed any particular interview. One thing I noticed was that during the Leadership Principles questions I gave some generic answers rather than specific experiences, although as the interviews progressed and I learned that I needed specific examples I started to give more specific examples. Maybe this costed me? Or maybe the other candidates were simply far superior. Either way, I was sort of caught off-guard by the quick rejection :(.

Is it possible I hit some major red flag? The rejection email did mention to re-apply in 12 months though.

Anybody else have the same experience?
