Accepted a position at Amazon. Due to COVID19, I will be starting 'remotely' at the beginning of July.
At the time of signing my documents a couple weeks ago I had an original start date at the end of the month. But due to the timing of my current lease, it was much more convienent to relocate now than to relocate later. And I was able to find an apartment in the city that the office is located but the lease started after my June start date so I thought I would adjust my start date to be later. I was finally able to get in contact with HR person managing my stuff and changed my new start date to after my move-in date.
I don't know if anyone has experienced this but since the standard is to start remotely they needed my address of where I expected to start. In the portal once you signed a certain page you can't edit the page (it's pretty explicit too about not being able to change this information until after you start). At the time I signed it I put my current address, which is the issue. My relocation will be a cross country move meaning that they are planning on shipping the equipment to a far away address instead of my new address.
Does anyone know if your equipment gets delivered x days perfectly before your start day because they time it just right. Or do they just ship it as soon as possible, if so, how long from doc signed to equipment received?
Just some insight, I thought if somebody had a good answer here then I might not even bother to try to reach out.
Thanks!
EDIT: They will ask for your address before you start so they can priority ship the security dongle. You won't get your computer until a week into your first week.
