I often read about advice to work through your problem manually with a test case. But in practicallity, what is your processing for doing this? I.E. do you keep all the variables in your mind while looking at the code? Do you have a system for writing out the individual steps/state of variables on paper? I feel like I don't have a good process here and could use some help. Have googled around and can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Thanks!
