I was recently asked for an onsite where the job title says Software Development engineer. I am willing to join Amazon for level L5. I asked this to the recruiter and they said they cannot confirm the level and it will be determined after the interview.

Is this how it supposed to be or does SDE in the title mean that it is for L4?
