Hi LeetCoders,

Thank you for all your love and support to LeetCode community. Over the years, LeetCode has become one of the biggest tech communities that connect coders from all around the world.

We have generous users who contribute their learning/interview experience and brilliant solutions to a coding problem. We also have numerous users who help build a warm and supportive community that encourage others to share.

We truly appreciate those who support LeetCode community. Together, we make LeetCode a place that empowers millions of coders worldwide.

However, we've noticed that some of the users have used the voting system to manipulate downvotes/upvotes. This kind of behavior has greatly decreased the quality of LeetCode community and discouraged talented LeetCoders from sharing good content. We, at LeetCode, has 0 tolerance to this kind of behavior. See some examples below:
❌ Revenge downvoting towards other LeetCoders
❌ Use alternate accounts to cast upvotes/downvotes

There are more patterns that are not listed above. To order to build a healthy and encouraging community, we have implemented a new voting policy. Please take a moment to read and familiarize yourself with the new policy outlined below. If you have any questions regarding these rules, you're welcome to ask them in the comments.

🛎️ New Voting Policy (effective from March 18, 2022)🛎️

  • You need at least 10 reputation to make a downvote.
  • Making a downvote will cost the voter 1 reputation.
  • There is a limit on the number the upvote/downvote you can give daily. The limit will be different based on your reputation.
  • The vote you made is irreversible after 5 minutes.

Reputation = Total upvotes you received - Total downvotes you received

LeetCode has implemented several ways internally to detect unusual downvote/upvote behavior. If we discover the malicious voting behavior, we may silently remove the votes and have the LeetCode accounts deactivated without prior warning.

Please, do not game the voting system. If you post great content, you will naturally receive upvotes from other LeetCoder.
