I know coding questions are standard nowadays for interviews, but I am wondering when this came to be. My first experience with a coding quiz was back in 2011, but I know this type of interview question came to be before my time.

I would like to hear others knowledge/insight into this evolution and when interviews transitioned from less behavioral and looking at general years of working in industry to testing present day knowledge through technical quesitons.
