You often hear its the 'thought process' that counts. But most of the time, you read about people who solved everything but still got rejected. Of course there can be a number of other reasons like culture fit etc but usually technical ability is the main one.
Its happened to me esp in phone screens where if you are less than perfect you are failed.
Luck is clearly a huge factor in all this. And companies have some bar like '1 bad round is ok' but we don't know if thats observed.
So esp for the big companies, how many have failed a round or 2 and still passed?
