Hi Leetcode Team and community,
Are this new contest rules in place already?
I'm very confused about my contest ratings it seems I'm stuck in 1400's.
After reading the post above and contest absence rules post I have the following questions:
1 - if for instance I register for a contest days before, and forget or cannot go, I'll be penalized the next time I'll participate, right?
I missed a number of contest so far but I thought it didn't matter until reading the contest rules.
2 - if I have a low score that will make it harder to have a better rating next time? I'm asking because it is being very hard for me to break through 1500. I do about 2 questions per contest in general below one hour and sometimes without errors, I use to rank like 65-50 percentile. I think my best rank was 2054th, but still can't break through 1500.
3 - this is not mentioned here but I saw that even I'm ranked let's say 2700 (by time), guys ranked 2800 will have better contest ranking than me, I don't find this normal. why this happens?
4 - as the time goes by it gets harder to change the contest rating?
5 - what happens if I was absent like 3 or 4 times within a year? I'll it get very hard to improve my rating? could it explain my hardship?
6 - what does affect my contest rating? one thing should be how fast i solve, other the errors, and more? does running time and memory also counts? what more is used to calculate my rating? I'm asking because i saw guys that take more time solving the same questions and therefore rank below me but have a higher contest rating.
7 - Do a guy that dont solves a question but gets more test cases right ranks higher than a guy that dont gets test cases right?
8 - What is the relation between the contest rating and the ranking (time) it doesn't seem direct relation.
I'm not super proficient but I'm finding it strange I can't break throught 1500.
(there is obviously the chance that I'm just not there but I feel I'm missing something.)
thanks for the attention
