I'm a recent CSE graduate from a Tier 1 college in India, and the job hunt is driving me crazy. I'm looking for an SDE role. It's been a month since my last internship ended, and I'm starting to worry about a career gap.
My profile seems strong on paper, and I'm confident in my coding skills:
Tier 1 college
Two solid internships (had an intern + PPO offer but didn't get the PPO)
ATS score over 80%
I've been applying for the last three months, but nothing is working out. Campus placements are over. The only offer I've managed to land is from a big MNC for 5 LPA, and it comes with a two-year bond.
I'm completely torn and need some advice:
1.Take the offer? The salary is low for my profile, and the bond is a major red flag, but at least it's a job.
2.Keep applying? Should I continue grinding, hoping to land a better-paying job without a bond, even though the market seems tough?
3.Higher studies? Is it time to just give up on the job hunt for now and pursue a master's degree? I could potentially start my master's next year.
This whole situation is also creating a career gap, which I'm worried about. How do I even address this with recruiters in the future? What would you do in my situation? Any insights or suggestions from people who have been through something similar would be a huge help. Thanks!
