Seeking better security, I jumped to a product startup entering the Indian market for a 34 LPA offer (29 fixed + 5 variable, specific to engineers).\n\nThe new company is in Hyderabad, and I was surprised by the high cost of living. Forget 2-3 BHK flats under 1 crore, builders just laugh! Rents are high too.\n\nStarting in April, my salary dropped by 35k per month compared to the initial 3 months.\n\nNow, I\'m questioning my decision. While I had a 32 LPA offer from a service company in Gurugram, the product company\'s policies are concerning. They make frequent changes, and my manager openly discusses replacing European contractors with cheaper Indian hires.\n\nThe supposed salary increase barely covers the increased expenses in Hyderabad. Additionally, office politics seem rampant, with other teams creating drama despite my team being okay.\n\nHonestly, with the pay cut and considering the same-city service company offer with better policies, I feel like I might\'ve made a mistake.\n\nWhat are your thoughts?
