Hi All,

 I am from INDIA and need your valuable suggestions/guidance regarding company and job role switch.

My Intro:

So basically, I am BTech graduate from NIT and completed graduation in 2018 with CGPI 7.9  and got campus placement. Currently I am working in MNC (Service-based) as Automation Tester in the same company, but I want to switch into Development profile in product-based company. I am good in programming languages like python, java, C#, C++, javascript, node.js,Powershell scripting, Docker,Jenkins,Azure DevOps.

My Queries

1. Is it possible for me to switch to a Development profile with 4 years of experience in Automation testing ??

2. if I prepare DSA and give product-based company interviews like Amazon & Microsoft or some other Product based in the next 6 months (when experience around 4.6 years), will they take interviews of experienced developers only or do they also prefer Automation tester for Interviews and assign SDE profile based on knowledge not on experience. is this possible or not?

Reasons for switch and developement Role

1. Salary : My CTC is very low so looking for CTC around 10-12 LPA (this is not possible if I switch roles in the same company)

2. Interested In Developement Since College Days : I like development since my college days but the company put me into a testing role saying they do not put freshers in dev roles (I was not fully aware of job titles and their nature of work). But in the company being working as a testers I always somehow participated in developments tasks, such as developing tools for team to increase productivity, participation in hackathons etc.

3. Why Not tried earlier??. I do not try earlier to switch company as I was suffering from some health and family issues. Now I feel its too late for me but want to give it a try.
