I got confirmation for selections from Amazon London SDE2 (L5) and Google Munich L3. However, the compensation details are yet to be discussed. I am in the team matching phase for both. (I will paste the details later in this post whenever I will get it).
For now, I am confused as what to choose. I am currently at Uber as SE2 with ~4 years of experience and with 70+ LPA package in India. Based on the levels.fyi trends for the compensation,
Amazon: TC ~= 120-130k GBP (80k GBP base + signon bonus + stocks) => 150-160k USD
Google: TC ~= 88k + 24k (RSUs) + 12k (bonus) USD => 124k USD
On one hand, I am getting a good position (L5) in Amazon (which is equivalent to L4 in Google) with London as location. But I will get better work and benefits at Google with not so bad location but L3 position.
Please give me more insights to think about before making any decision on this. I would personally prefer London as location and Google as company to work in. Also, I think L4 at Google would have been a deal breaker.
(Note: I have not started any kind of negotiation yet regarding the level or location or compensation. But it seems Google will be unwilling to change the level.)
