I received an offer to work for Chinese internet company in Singapore as a software engineer.

One of the team member is my acquaintance and I was introduced to the position by him. I also got a really good impression of the team from an interview with a team member. He is very knowledgeable and well-articulated.

I heard a lot about the 996 culture in Chinese company but I dont think that would be a big issue for me. However, I am wary that whether I can communicate effectively with my colleagues since I am the only non-Chinese speaker in a team of 7, the company uses WeChat enterprise for internal communication, and some of the documents are in Chinese, some are in English. I'm afraid I won't be able to learn much from my job due to languages and culture barrier.

What do you guys think of cultural fit when considering an offer?

Could anyone who have worked for a Chinese company as a non-Chinese speaker share their experience?
