Are my career goals (eventually) possible?\n\n\n**My Background:**\n\n* Graduated back in June from a small private school in the midwest with Bachelor\'s in computer science and minor in mathematics. \n* Wasn\'t able to get an internship while in school.\n* Didn\'t even try to apply to a FAANG job because my school is so small and I was struggling to get interviews at small companies.\n* I finally received an offer for a 3D Software Developer at a map imaging company and I\'ll be starting that soon.\n\n**My Goals:**\n\nI want to one day work for Facebook Reality Labs since my senior thesis was on VR and I loved working on it. Of course I\'d be excited for any FAANG position too. I was hoping that getting some experience at a job like the one \nI\'ll be starting will make my resume more appealing and help land more interviews.\n\n**My Question**\n\nWill it help getting a few years under my belt to get more interviews in the Bay Area later on?\nWill I be able to break into FAANG eventually?\nOr is it unrealistic since I went to a small school?\n\nI\'m worried because I\'ve heard conflicting things about getting into FAANG right out of college\nvs after gaining experience first.\n\nI apologize for the rambling, it\'s just been stressful finding a job after school and thinking about my career (all during a pandemic).
