Does MS CS from US : NYU Tandon make sense?

Hi,
I am currently an engineer, recently got an offer at L4 google as an SWE in India. Prior to this I have worked with Amazon and Uber too. I have 5 years of experience overall.

I also have an admit for MS CS from NYU poly.
I want to make the best choice possible, I want to explore research options in Distributed systems and ML/AI, however, I do not see many people doing masters getting a chance in research opportunities.
Also, online masters is easily available from the likes of Georgia Tech and other which are easily sponsored by google and other employers.

Case 1:
I do masters, let go of 2 years worth of salary + stocks after taxes and pay the fees and expenses for my masters: $220,000 is the total cost

No way I can make that much amount back in 1 yr after getting a job in states.

Moreover, given the current situation with pandemic, I might have to spend a semester online too.

Case 2:
I continue with my job, do an online ms cs from Georgia tech and after some years pursue PhD directly after 2 years.

The thing that has been confusing me is the humongous opportunity cost I have to pay, not just the fees, is MS CS from states really worth it, given that NYU Tandon is not even an Ivy league university.
