Hi Leetcoders, thanks for stopping by. I need your advice about my career. I've been thinking about this weird confusion for a while. I think, this is the best place to ask.

I have been working as a front-end developer for 6 years now. While I work, I sometimes touch back-end side like calling an API via JS, fetching data etc. I also built a few NodeJS projects and automation project with Python. Nothing more than that. So dealing with backend is small portion of whole career. My question is; should I apply as a front-end developer to FANG companies and switch to SWE while in the company or should I directly apply as SWE after I create a few interesting projects? Because I get bored with front-end and I really want to become a real engineer. I feel like front-end development is not a real enginerring.
