Hi LC community,
I just had two phone interviews with the Amazon as well as another medium-size company.
Here is my story:
I have a Phd in NLP and applied for an applied scientist.
The first phone interview, they asked me LC medium question and I went through it quickly with some minor bugs. Then, the interviewee asked a lot of questions on Machine learning and NLP. I felt I could have communicated better. Eventually, they rejected me.
The next phone interview with another medium-size company, they asked me LC hard question, I was crushed by this problem. With a lot of hints and suggestions, my brain had just turned off. But I still managed to get a skeleton of the solution. I did terribly on this phone interview.
My next two interviews are going to be with Google and Facebook. I am a bit hopeless. Although, I have no problem with LC medium level, I am still struggled with some of LC hard problems. Given the competitiveness at those companies, I feel hopeless. I don't think I can solve their LC hard problems within 20 - 30 minutes.
SO how can I stay positive and keep my moral hype up? How did you guys manage these difficulty throughout your interviewing experiences? I have been preparing for the interview for a month now but it looks like there is no hope.
Thanks!
