TL:DR at the end

Hi, I graduated from a good Canadian CS program last winter, but I made stupid mistakes and only did a single internship, so my resume is filled with random projects. I may be the only person in the program that's unemployed after several months of graduating (7 months now).

I applied to mostly local companies, but because I was so unprepared, I failed many interviews, including behavioural phone screens. Fast forward, starting this year, I took job search more seriously and I did get to a few onsites but I did not get any offers. I assume those were moslty due to my behaviors or not being able to answer trivia questions like what is XXX or YYY. I didn't really get coding tasks other than arrays and map. I have been improving my behavioural interview skills ever since.

I did apply to some bigger names, like Amazon, MSFT, Google, FB. I did not pass resume screen for MSTF and Google. I went through Amazon OA but failed due to leadership (the coding questions were ok). My cool down ends next month, but I am not even sure if I can get an interview again at Amazon now that I have so much gap in my history (7 months since my graduation). As for FB, I somehow passed phone screen and did my virtual interview but failed it.

I have done around 300 questions but as mentioned earlier, not many local companies seem to care much about LC. My interview callback rate was may be 10% precovid, but now I am getting almost no responses. As for interview, nobody seems to care about personal projects, so I have not been doing them but I may be wrong, so I need your opinions.

I just want to break into the field... should I just work on more personal projects? Find a role in IT support, QA or non related work? Or continue with LC, in the case where I have opportunity to interview with larger ones like Amazon again? I do find LC more enjoyable than projects, even though I am terrible at it. Luckily, I don't have to worry about living expenses at the moment, so I can choose to do anything.

TLDR:
Graduated from good cs program last winter, still unemployed. My interviewing sucked but I improved. Did 300+ LC but still not good enough to pass FANG. Local companies doesnt seem to ask LC. I just want to get into the field. Should I continue with LC? or spend time on something else (like personal project).
