Hi All,\n\nI am a relatively fresh assistant engineering/physics professor (non-CS Engineering PhD) at a top midwest school i.e. (U. Michigan, UIUC, NU, UChicago...etc) with research and development in healthcare devices. I don\'t have any formal CS training, but my field requires scientific programming (C++, python, matlab), but not SWE level. I\'m already starting to feel how much of academics is politics instead of research, and would like to switch to a FAANG (or relatively comparable to my current TC of $150k) so I can just build/code things and still have a decent career progression.   \n\nAside from leetcode for companies, any other suggestions on how to get my resume to appear attractive to the tech industry? I imagine DS is an easier pivot, but I hear that SWE is much more valued and better compensated?
