Hello, I wasn't sure where to put this. I will try to keep this anonymous as possible, however, not sure if saying the company will help or not.

Basically, I finished an onsite at a FAANG for a team in one city. However, after that, a recruiter called telling me that I passed the onsite (no email about it). However, I would not be able to join the team I interviewed for (I assume I was downleveled). The recruiter said they will try to match me with another team, which would be located in another city.

I was wondering if this hurts my chance of joining the company due to the shuffling. Should I reach out to the recruiter to express interest in joining a different team if possible? Should I wait and go through the motions for the official offer?
