I have around 10 months of experience. I am from a tier-2 college, have decent CP experience but don't have impressive projects. I applied to the following companies in India through employee referrals but didn't get any call.

1. VmWare (March 2020)
2. Flipkart (April 2020)
3. Grab (April 2020)
   However I got interview calls from the following companies by just applying on career site.
4. Zynga (April 2020)
5. Expedia (Jan 2020)
   Even before COVID, I didn't get interview through referrals at some of the startups like Swiggy, Zomato.
   What could be the possible reasons?
