I'd started Leetcoding about 4 months ago, and was able to land 3 on-site interviews, Facebook, Apple, and Microsoft... so far I got rejected from Apple, accepted by Microsoft, and waiting for a second round interview with Facebook...
I'm still new to these interview grinds, though I have more than 8 years of software engineer experience in aerospace companies. But right now I just feel like crap, I feel like I am not up to par with these engineers with great careers in these big tech companies... that I'd dreamt of working in. Also, because I found out that I got rejected from Apple and got low balled by Microsoft on the same day. The offer from Microsoft is way way lower than I'd expected (for someone my level), it could be that I sucked at interviewing with them... So, even when I do managed to squeeze into a one of those companies, I feel like I just wind up at the very bottom... I know I shouldn't feel sorry for myself cause I got an offer...
But right now, I guess I'm feeling the classical burning out from this Leetcode grinding and intervewing...
So with that being said should I take this lowball offer from Microsoft? Continue grinding Leetcode? Or stay at my current job, which is nice, familiar, and comfortable for me (though it have lots of bureaucracy issue and office politics....but then again, who doesn't?) Another reason to not take the Microsoft offer is because my wife is expecting soon, and with this job offer in Redmond I am not sure if it would allow my wife to stay at home AND take care of the kid. If I stay at my current job, at least we're near family so they could help out.
So, is it worth it to join one of these big tech companies?
