I am currently in the process of interviewing for a full time position at Microsoft, but as a Technical Consultant. I have a background in software but did do a technical consulting internship before, and I don't hate it but would prefer to do software at Microsoft. Unfortunately, I didn't pass my final round for SWE at Microsoft and wanted to know how easily it is to transfer internally from Technical Consultant (heavier on the technical side) to a full time software engineer. Would I have to interview again? If so, how would the process differ as I would already be an employee of Microsoft? Any insight would be appreciated!
