This was the extent of my programming knowledge 6 months ago. I, like many, thought coding was a mystical realm where wizards created something magical out of nothing at all. However, my summer internship at an accounting firm of all places, I learned how to program. And I LOVED it. I decided within a few weeks I was going to be a software developer! There was one minor setback: I was set to graduate in 9 months with a business degree. My friends studying Compuer Science were getting YC funding or signing return offers from Facebook and Google; I was sitting in Introduction to Programming. I realized quickly how far behind I truly was.

Now, I am actively applying to software engineering internships. I plan to intern over the summer then recruit for full time positions next fall. I have built websites, published apps, and more! I know I am still far far behind my peers, but I love what I am doing even more than I did 6 months ago. If any of this post resonates with you. If you always thought coding was interesting but never got into it. If you're overwhelmed by this entire world. Keep going, you've got this!! There are so many great, FREE resources online that can help you master the basics! You're determination will get you there!
