Google India - How to negotiate L4

Hi,
Will keep it short.

  • 2 YoE, L60 at Microsoft, will be L61 in June.

  • Got an offer for L5 at Amazon.

  • Got positive feedback in all rounds at Google, but recruiter is pressuring me to take L3.

  • Since start I told this recruiter that I am interested in L4, and she confirmed in written that interviews would be assessing for both levels L3-L4.

  • After 3 tech rounds, she said its 3 Hires for L3 and 1 Hire, 2 LH for L4.

  • Now after all rounds, she told me that I have all Hires for L3 and interviewers did not fill rating for L4. (So, what was that 1-Hire/2-LH she talked about earlier?)

I most definitely do not want to join Google at new grad role. It will not hit the numbers I want. There are definitely other companies which will hit that number and the level.

Any tips for me? Should I focus on negotiating google L4 given I have a counter offer at equivalent level in Amazon or should I drive that energy to applying at other companies? Anyone willing to refer? :)
