Hi, I have close to 2 YOE in an Data Analytical team at a MNC based of India as Software Engineer where my responsibilites include working on creating Inhouse Applications and ETL pipelines. Recently I have received offers from Unicorn companies, one for Backend role and while one for Data Engineering Role. Comparing the two companies side by side on paper I wanted to join company which offered me Data Engineering Role. However I am reluctant to proceed that what if I took Data Engineering part as core and later on if I wanted to move to Backend role how difficult it is. I have interest in Backend as well however I would really love if it is data driven backend or data platfrom layering role.

Regarding Compensation - They more are less same, the DE one is may be little better.
