Hope you all are doing good.

I had been getting interviewed at various Indian start-ups, MNCs(mostly service based) and few product based firms as well.

Till today, I have 1 offer from a service-based MNC and have cleared one with a product based company but have not received the offer yet.

YoE: 7 years
Current compensation: ~15 LPA (all fixed)
Offer in hand: ~31 LPA (fixed + 10% variable + 1.5L as 12 month joining bonus)

Expected offer: Asked for atleast 45LPA as base. Recruiter agreed on 42LPA as base + 2L as 12month joining bonus. After couple of days, he called up saying organization is not willing to go with this structure as this is not what people at your experience are being paid here. So, we can give either 40LPA + 4L as 12 month joining bonus.

I explained my reason as why I can't go to a number below what we had earlier agreed upon. At the end of the discussion, I agreed on 41.5LPA as base + 2.5LPA as 12 month joining bonus.

After next 3-4 days I followed up on this as to by when I would get the offer/expression shared with me formally. He said he's still trying to make management agree on the numbers. He also said that since my last working day at my current firm is almost a month away, so they may roll on the offer little late.

I said that I am getting interviewed with other firms as well and hence would be helpful if I can get the offer shared early. This would help me take decisions.

I again followed him after couple of days to have a discussion on this. Initially he picked up saying he'll call up after some time. Since I didn't get a call back, I called again after few hours, and this time he rejected my call sending a generic text message that he'll call back later.

Now, I really don't know if this only positive offer which seemed to be positively coming in at present would be in my hand or not. As my notice period is approaching, and sadly I am getting rejections at last/end stages of other interviews, I am feeling little hopeless thinking how would I shape my finances if I don't have an offer at the end of my notice period now.

I have worked hard, tried my best so far, and still trying to keep working on it. I am heavily underpaid as I hardly could give enough time on working on my DSA skills due to work pressure/engagement so far and also because of the people I was surrounded with in these years (respect all of them but I feel the difference now, genuinely). And as usual because of financial dependencies/liabilities, I can't sit at home and prepare without any monetory income.

I do have online assessments for Amazon which I can take up but I feel not well prepared for the same and given the 6 month cooling period it has, I am afraid I may loose my opportunity if I appear for this test half-prepared.

Would really appreciate/be thankful for your advice/suggestion/comments on what I might already have screwed up and anything which you feel would help me put in better spot in short as well as long run.
