I recently got an offer at a very good company which does real engineering (electronics, in this case). I am currently interning here and I am finding it really hard to make sense of things. There seems to be no one to guide. All are super busy with their work and have no time for queries.
I half expected a walk-through of the product and/or what the team did (in terms of code and work-flow), during the so-called ramp-up process but in actuality I was just handed few internal wikis and 1-2 recorded videos which introduced jargons and some keywords used internally. (Apparently, my colleagues were also given only those few materials during their ramp-up. I really feel stupid and low). Now I am already given tasks to do whilst I have no idea about the codebase. They have very high expectations.
One or two colleagues are helpful and gave me an intro somewhat, but I can't keep pestering them right?
What do I do? Please help. Is this how all work is? I don't have a good feeling about this. I love to learn and code and was looking for a good team to build things together but that doesn't seem to be happening here.
I've had better experiences at interning at startups where codebase/project was smaller and I had much better idea on things to google, etc. Whereas, here everything is internal.
