Hi, If you got any offer from one of the service based MNCs or you want to join one of them, then this is your guide. Read this and then decide.

I was in a tier 3 college, where not so much people are actively coding and I was one of them. Before joining B.tech [ Computer Science ], I have biology in 12th. So I never did coding before engineering. Until 2nd year I was a guy who doesn't care about his career and just enjoying the college life. After 4th sem for some reason I started coding and I found it interesting.

Now In college as there was not so much lime light on coding, I just started with python without asking anything to anyone. I did so much python and then little bit of web dev in django and then I shifted to machine learning and deep learning. For me I was a so called "ML Enthusiast". Indeed I was going wrong, I did this until the mid of 4th year and then I realised that I need to learn some foundation languages and DS ALGO for placement.

I just literally switched from Python to C++, and managed to learn it. Now I did some very basic Questions in DS ALGO and I have my ML projects, and I started applying for companies. As a tier 3 college and also for covid there was no campus placement in my college.

Here the main journey starts

I applied to all the service based companies in India. You already know them I don't need to mention their names. I got test links from Accenture, Cognizant and Capgemini then I cleared the tests and also gave interviews and managed to clear all of them. I got the offer letter and joined the SO CALLED MOST VALUED LARGEST IT FIRM IN THE WHOLE GALAXY. Yes, you guessed it correct, Accenture.

I joined as an ASE [Associate Sofware Engineer], Now there are 2 positions one is ASE[ 4.5 LPA ] and SE [ 6 LPA ]. My test went well and the interview as well, but don't know how I ended up being an ASE.

Now joining Accenture was one of the worst decesions in my life

At first there was some basic TFA training which was of 45 days, and then there was the main training which is called as the GFT [ Green Field Training ]. GFT is nothing but the waste of your time. They train you on things which don't have any relation with the project you are going to get.

In the mid end of the GFT, I was asked to get into a project. The role offered was Automation Tester. Do I have an option ? NO, No one wants to be on the bench for long time. I joined that project and then start testing the website. It was alerady developed 5 years ago and on support, so there was nothing much to do. All the test cases are alerady automated and for new test cases we just have to copy paste the old code. So my whole life moved around excel sheets and teams and a web app which looked like a school project.

Now this is not only my story, you must be thinking I might got the wrong project and a wrong role. But no, this similar thing was also happened to my batch mates and friends in Accenture. Some of them are even in technical support, Inventory management, marketing etc. Just think of their situation. They are just fresh cs graduates and what is happening to their careers.

After realising all these, I resigned in 10 months. NOW I AM HAPPY.

This is not only about Accenture, this is happening with almost all the employees in companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Capgemini and several others.

Now the thing is If you are not so much good at DS ALGO or You don't have good projects what can you do?

Try getting placed in start ups. You might get lesser package or lesser job security, but believe me the learning curve is going to be so stiff. And in future that will lead you to higher packages.

JUST DON'T JOIN SERVICE BASED COMPANIES.
It's a dead trap and your career will be destroyed
