I wish to know the type of work SDE 2's (2.5-4 yr exp) are doing at Indian product startups like Swiggy, Zomato, Hotstar and startups at similar scale. I am asking this from backend engineer perspective.

1. What is the percentage distribution of your work wrt implementation and design / meetings etc. Also, is your work mostly related to design and implementation of CRUD APIs. I am sure there must be some innovative work going on in these companies to work on optimisations of various types. But are you getting significant ownership while working on those problems or its led from more seniors / tech architects etc?

2. Do you get choice to choose among managerial / tech-lead paths?

3. Do backend engineers also have the ownership of building devops related stuff like deploying apis on cloud etc? And are there specific roles for DBA's and Devops engineers? I'm sure it will vary by companies but if I can get general idea it will be great!
