Hi guys, Need advice to switch from service-based to product-based.\n\nMy background: I have 2.5 YOE and working as Software engineer at a service-based MNC. I mostly do maintenance work here and thus I want to get out of here asap. From past 5-6 months I am doing DSA and till now I have done ~400(112E 245M 43H) problems on leetcode. Currently I am focusing on LLD/machine-coding.\n\nConcerns: Since I am from service-based, I have less hope to get shortlisted considering my past work. I may be judged from my past exp. I have worked on some decent projects from my past company but I am doing maintenance in my current org.\n\nQuestions:\n1) Should I start applying for SDE1 roles?\n2) OR should I wait for 4-5 months, prepare for System design and then altogether apply for SDE2 roles?\n3) How do I increase my chances to get shortlisted? Will making few projects help?
