My doubt is simple. Suppose if I have worked for 1 year in a company as SDE1, would I be allowed to get SDE2 role in the next company directly?

• Should I ask my manager about the near-time promotion/annual raise, wait and only then think of switching?
• The 2yr 3 mo old joineed still haven't got promotions.
• Its a Fortune 500 company, but has bad annual bonus, and old tech, so planning to switch quick.
