Hello All,
Recently I have recieved an offer from Udaan as an Applciation Developer. However I am skeptical about the position and my job role and would love your input on this (preferably somone who already works at udaan).
I am currently working in a fintech Product Based company as a backend developer(2 YOE) mainly on Java + Spring Boot. Udaan is one of the first companies I got the offer from. However, I have noticed a couple of red flags throghout the process,
1. The interview was extremly easy and contained only one tech roud and another past work discussion round. That makes me question about the quality of work.
2. They are saying the new role is to increase velocity, but why are they still hiring SDE - 1 and Software Engineer roles. I have read some glassdoor reviews where it is mentioned that Software Engineer role is better than Application Developer role. Not sure in what context.
3. I want to pursue my career as a Backend Developer and gain knowledge on distributed architecture as well as the components that enable it (messeage queues, redis stuff). While I am learning all these on my own and to some extent in my current role, I want to be part of a team that accelerates that. However , when I asked the interviewer , he gave a very diplomatic answer and left the JD blurry saying it will be a full stack role , and the project will be randomly assigned to you.
Also , not a major point, but a they use Kotlin + Dropwizard for backend, so not sure if it would be a wise choice to move from Java + SpringBoot to that.
So if anyone can please pitch in and help me take a right choice, I would be really greatful.
Your Fellow Developer.
Peace.
