I have <1 yrs of experience and currently working as a software engineer in a large-size MNC. I have started preparing for interviews for SDE role.

I have been regularly doing competitive coding for algorithmic rounds and my preferred language is C++. However my work at the firm is mostly in JAVA backend. Hence I feel that for designing softwares JAVA seems a natural choice.

Is it a good choice to prepare for SDE role with different languages in mind for Algorithmic (C++) and Design (Java) rounds?

Do companies allow for the same i.e. using different languages for design and algo rounds?
