Hi Leetcoders,
I am interested in transitioning from general SDE to ML SDE role. It will be very helpful if someone who has done it can share their journey here. Other people would also be able to benefit from this.

I don't want to go for master's as my profile is not good, so negligible chances of getting into a good school. Moreover, it will be tough for me to afford; I am already 26 years old.

I see a few possible paths:

1. Get into FAAMG as a general SWE role and then transition to a ML role.
   -- If someone can tell how tough or easy is this internal transfer, it will be really helpful.
2. Get a ML role in some startup and then transfer to FAANG after a few years as ML engineer.
   -- Entry level ML roles are very very rare, please do share how did you find yours
3. Get into some AI residency (but I have heard they want some ML industrial or research experience)

Let me know if there is any other way to transition into such a role.
