I recently joined a new firm, I was getting tired and sick of politics in my older firm, so I worked really hard since I had no choice, my team was too toxic. I got from a product based non faang to faang with good ctc and all that. I have a feeling that during my background check and now also, my old manager is saying bad things about me in my new firm, i have already started feeling somethigs on those line, what should i do, kindly help.

My old manager is very clever and whenever he sees someone smarter than him, he is bad to them and is very good to people who ass lick him and are not smarter than him.
