I will soon be joining MTech at IIT. I have many options for electives. This elective courses may determine what placements I get at the end of the course.

So I have few questions, which might help me make a better decision

1. I heard from many that ML related roles are fewer compared to SDE. How true is this? and arent there also fewer people pursuing ML/AI.
2. I personally don't enjoy Maths. But if I have to do it to get ML jobs then I am willing to do them. But how much this maths actual professionals uses?
3. Some seniors have told me that, salary increments are lower in ML than in SDE. Like SDE2/SDE3 earns lot more than equivalent ML roles. Is this true?
4. Do u see ML roles booming and will have lucrative future in 10-15 years and SDE roles will shrink?
