I am a 2021 passout from a tier-1 college(IIT/NIT/IIIT).

I have an offer in one of top unicorns of India as a Data Engineer. The compensation is very lucrative.

But I am not sure whether I should go for that offer or not as I have heard that DE roles involes very less amount of coding.
I have observed almost all of the tier-1 folks go for SWE(Backend/Frontend) in companies.
Also, I have heard that DE get less opportunities and are less valued in an organisation than Backend/Frontend folks. And their compensation is also usually low in the industry as compared to BE/FE peers.

Please help me whether I should go for DE role as a Fresher or not considering the future scope, compensation in industry etc. or I should try to get into BE/FE roles.

PS: I don't have any interest bias for DE or BE or FE role.
PPS: The DE offer is hard to reject in terms of compensation. But then I am worried that my compensation would not be at par with BE/FE folks in future(2-3 years).
