I had 4 interviews over a span of a 2 months with a company ( as good as FAANG ), all interviewer went decent to good, no one was outright bad, no one was excellent.

I asked for update from recruiter, this is the reply I got:
Based on the final discussion , we have put your profile on hold for now. We are evaluating other candidates as well before we decide something. Will circle back to you once we have made a decision
What does this mean? What should I infer? Is this just sugar coating and have they rejected me and being polite? Will they ever get back? Are there chances of getting the job offer?
